Some of the most popular Buick vehicles of recent years have at least one small thing in common: the inclusion of the “En-” prefix in their nameplates. Now we have great cause to expect another Buick will join this club, as Buick recently filed to trademark the “Envista” nameplate.
Back in 2016, Buick introduced the Avista concept, a two-door coupe with a stunning profile that never made it into production. It’s obvious, however, that the Envista nameplate is extremely similar to the Avista of yesteryear, leading many to speculate that the new Envista could very well be a realized Avista with a name-change to fit in better with the current branding.
Still, others are guessing that the Envista nameplate will be applied to an all-new concept. Either way, the discontinuation of the Buick Cascada leaves a gap in the Buick passenger car lineup, so it seems likely that any new concept would fill this spot.
New reports also suggest that even more new “En-“ nameplates are in the works at Buick. While none are official yet, “Envoy” and “Enspire” are rumored to be among the monikers in the works.
Of course, this is all speculation. But one thing is certain: Buick has plenty going on behind the scenes that gives us here at LaSorsa Chevrolet Buick good cause to get excited about the years to come. In the meantime, if you need a new Buick before the Envista makes its appearance, we’ve got you covered.
