The Chevrolet Blazer was one of Chevrolet’s most popular models when it was first introduced, helping to usher in America’s love of SUVs. Now, it is making a comeback for the 2019 model year. The following is a preview of the 2019 Blazer so you know what you can expect.
For starters, the Blazer has a completely new, sophisticated look in place of the old boxy design. The Blazer will sit in the lineup between the Equinox and the Traverse.
“The Blazer has attitude,” said John Cafaro, executive director of Global Chevrolet Design. “It looks commanding on the road, while fulfilling the promise of versatility at the heart of every Chevy crossover and SUV.”
Just like other Chevy SUVs, the Blazer will be available in multiple trim levels. However, each trim will come with unique styling elements to set them apart from each other. For example, the range-topping Premier trim will have chrome details, while the sporty RS model will come with blacked-out features.
Standard under the hood of the Blazer will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which supplies 193 horsepower. For more power, there will be an available 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower. With this engine, the Blazer will be able to tow up to 4,500 pounds.
