The holidays are right around the corner, one reason we at LaSorsa Chevrolet Buick have compiled a list of the top gifts for car lovers this year. Whether you’d like to get something fun or practical, there’s a gift out there for nearly anyone interested in automobiles. Nothing shows you care like finding the perfect present.
One of the most popular car-related presents this year, according to Best Products, is the Omaker Car Mount Holder. Even if you don’t get this brand, you may consider a mount for a smartphone that allows you to easily access directions on the go. Look for a design with a locking pivot point, a suction cup, and a clip attachment.
Next, consider seat protectors. For those with children or pets, seat protectors will definitely come in handy. They come with easy-to-clean materials that are often heat resistant and color-safe, protecting both leather and cloth. Some even come with pockets for added storage.
Also, consider a car care kit. Meguiar’s Complete kit is one of the best to get, though it may set you back over $50. It comes with special cloths, sponges, waxes, and more. While it may not be a glamorous gift, most car lovers will enjoy a good car care kit.
Finally, any car lover will enjoy a new set of tools. You can start with a wrench kit or work your way up depending on how much you’re looking to spend. While some people are finicky about their tools, you may be able to find the perfect gift by speaking with your local auto parts store about new tools. These are just some of the many great gifts for car lovers to keep an eye out for this Holiday season.
Here in New York, winter can arrive suddenly without much warning. That is why it is so important to winterize your car. Follow these simple steps below to get your car ready for the cold and snow.
Your vehicle’s fluids are what keeps everything running smoothly. Make sure all fluids are clean and at the proper level. Pay particular attention to your coolant, oil, and washer fluid.
Those four pieces of rubber that keep you in contact with the road can quickly become useless if they are worn too thin or damaged. Check your tread depth and you can even switch to winter tires, which do a better job of cutting through snow and staying soft when temperatures drop.
Any starting troubles can become exacerbated in the winter. Check your car’s battery, cables, and terminals.
In case you do get stuck on the side of the road, you want to be prepared. Pack an emergency kit with items like a blanket, extra gloves, a small shovel, flashlight, high-energy snacks, water, and other emergency items.
Here at LaSorsa Chevrolet Buick, we want to help you get through the winter. Schedule a service appointment with us today and let us do the work for you.

For the 2018 model year, Chevrolet’s largest SUV, the Traverse is getting some work done. The redesigned Chevrolet Traverse will be bigger and better than ever. In fact, it will be two inches longer than the outgoing model.
With a larger exterior, the Traverse gains passenger space, too. Chevy said second and third-row passengers will enjoy more headroom and legroom than before. And, even with more passenger space, the Traverse will still boast an impressive 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and up to 99 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.
Another strong feature in the new Traverse will be its technology. Buyers will be able to choose from a wide range of available features, including a 4.2-inch color Driver Information Center, OnStar with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, up to seven USB ports, Chevrolet MyLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging station for smartphones.
Buyers will have the choice of multiple engines, including a strong V6 and turbocharged four-cylinder. There will also be a new trim available, a sporty RS model with a differently-tuned suspension and unique trim.
The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will make its arrival here at LaSorsa Chevrolet Buick by the end of the year.
Traffic can ruin everything from a road trip to a work commute, but don’t let it ruin you! Here are some tips on how to deal with the traffic in New York without losing your mind, from us at LaSorsa Chevrolet Buick.
This may seem obvious, but you need to breathe! If the cars in front of you aren’t going anywhere, take a deep breath in and out. Practicing deep breathing can help reduce your anxiety and slow your heart rate down.
If you’re going to be in traffic for a while, then you’ll want to get comfortable. Make sure that you are cool or warm enough, whether that means blasting the A/C or opening the windows. If you run into traffic often, you can get a seat cushion or seat cover to help keep you comfy.
Blast Your Favorite Tunes
You know those songs that you can’t resist singing along to? Make a playlist of your favorite songs and call it “Traffic Tunes.” That way when you’re stuck in traffic, you can sing along to your favorite music and pretend you’re on “The Voice.” It’s a great way to distract you from the stress of traffic.
Take a deep breath, crank the tunes in your Buick, and kiss that traffic stress goodbye!
Drivers who live in cold climates already know what freezing, thawing, and refreezing can do to roads. New potholes pop up once the snow finally melts away. Potholes can cause significant damage to your vehicle over time, so it’s in your best interest to avoid them whenever possible. Here are some tips for surviving pothole season from us here at LaSorsa Chevrolet Buick!
Be Alert The easiest way to survive pothole season is to simply be alert while driving. Keep your eyes looking at the road and slow down or go around potholes. There’s nothing worse than a bump and loud clunk that signifies you hit a pothole hard. Hitting a pothole at low speeds will significantly reduce the impact it has on your vehicle.
Tire Pressure Maintaining proper tire pressure can protect your car from damage when going over potholes. Underinflated tires may rupture or burst when the vehicle hits a pothole. In the same way, overinflated tires can take damage from potholes as well. Maintain the manufacturer-suggested tire pressure for best results.
Do Your Part Help reduce potholes in your area by reporting them to the proper authorities. After all, a pothole can’t get fixed if those in charge of repairs don’t even know it’s there!
If you’ve ever wanted your SUV to pack a serious punch, now’s your chance. For 2018, Chevrolet is handed two of their most popular nameplates – the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban – the option of a Rally Sport Truck package. These will be called the Tahoe RST and the Suburban RST respectively and will come not only with a variety of different cosmetic changes, but several performance options that will add more driving pleasure for those behind the wheel.
These special edition variants of the 2018 models will feature tweaks such as body color accents including the grille and door handles, contrasting black trim on the exterior, and exclusive 22-inch Bridgestone wheels. Options like a performance exhaust system and Brembo brakes are available to the buyer, while those interested in the new Chevy Tahoe can go for a new 420-HP V8 engine. Performance upgrades that come with the package will include a new Magnetic Ride Control suspension.
Chevrolet says the Rally Sport Truck package was something asked for by their customers, who wanted an SUV that could tow and haul as well as accommodate their families without sacrificing everything that makes driving fun. The RST editions of both the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2018 Suburban will be available as of this fall.
Large vehicles are selling like hotcakes, so to speak, and General Motors is aiming to capitalize on the current trend. Chevrolet crossovers and SUVs already dominate the competition with relative ease, but there’s always room for improvement. That’s why the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will get a little bigger and boast plenty of technology.
The upcoming Chevrolet Traverse will grow 2 inches in the wheelbase, effectively offering more headroom and legroom for rear passengers. While the cargo area shrinks to 23 cubic feet, that’s still more than enough to top competitors like the Ford Explorer, which offers just 21 cubic feet of space.
As for styling, the 2018 Traverse boasts a more modern look with a truck-line profile. A hexagonal grille and narrow headlights fill out most of the front end while the rear end is similar to the GMC Acadia.
According to Chevrolet, the Traverse drops just over 350 pounds compared to the previous model. That makes the three-row crossover more comparable to competitors like the Honda Pilot.
Performance still comes standard with a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine under the hood. Total power output comes to an impressive 305 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A smaller 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available in the new RS trim. Both engines come mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission and start/stop technology.
The 2017 Detroit Auto Show has come and gone but it’s still the talk of many automotive enthusiast circles. One automaker in particular stole the show when it comes to kids and adults alike.
Chevrolet’s Lego Batmobile, designed by Lego master builders in Connecticut, took more than 344,000 bricks and 1,800 hours to put together. The model is available in a dozen different shades of black, according to Chevrolet.
Chevrolet’s Lego Batmobile is the real deal with a starting price sitting comfortably at $48 million. The model also boasts a maximum towing capacity of 120,000 pounds when properly equipped. It also churns out 20,000 hp, according to the automaker’s official page. The car weighs in at less than 1,700 pounds for maximum agility and handling while chasing down Joker in the upcoming The LEGO Batman Movie.
The Lego model also boasts several of Chevrolet’s top technologies, including smartphone integration software like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also boasts a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with connectivity for up to seven devices. This gives Robin plenty of distractions until it’s time to spring into action.
We here at LaSorsa Chevrolet are pumped to see the all-new Chevrolet Lego Batmobile in theaters on February 10th!
